Temple Trip

Dear Sisters,

I express my sincere thanks to you for your efforts and active participation in the Relief Society "100 Day Book of Mormon Reading Challenge" which culminated in being together in the temple on Saturday Oct 9. It was a beautiful day. I know there were many who would have liked to attend but could not due to schedules, sickness, etc. You were thought of and missed. We will have more temple trips scheduled throughout the coming months.

President Benson said there are 3 reasons to make the Book of Mormon a lifelong pursuit: 1) it is the keystone of our religion 2) it is written for our day 3) it will help us draw nearer to God.

I urge each of us to study the scriptures and words of our living prophets, ponder the teachings and apply them to our lives. As we do so, we prepare ourselves to make covenants with the Lord. The temple is the house of the Lord. It is a holy place where we participate in saving ordinances and where we can find peace and feel the sanctifying influence of the Spirit of the Lord which will teach us, comfort us, and help us through our trials and challenges of our lives.

Love, Jen Pond
