Timmy Raymond, seventh-grader at Unami Middle School, loved sports, music, and building. In fact, Timmy loved constructing just about anything he could get to hold together, and dreamed of one day becoming an architect. He was well known by friends and family as an exceptionally smart, thoughtful, hard-working, and kind-hearted young man.

Timmy fought a vicious illness with determination and courage for four months surviving unfathomable procedures many used for the first time in medical history. Although he did finally receive a lung transplant and lived through a 12-hour surgery, he died a short time later on March 6, 2010.

The Gift of Life Family House seeks to ease the burden of families whose loved ones are undergoing organ transplants in the Philadelphia region, by providing resources for them, such as meals, counseling, and transportation. Thousands of patients come to Philadelphia hospitals every year needing life-saving organ transplants. Many come from out of state or travel great distances. Family House is a refuge for patients and their families who are on this journey.
